A mind-blowing battery story awaits! Prepare to be amazed by the journey of a Xiaomi SU7 owner in China, who's taken his electric sedan on an incredible adventure.
In just 16 months, this adventurous driver racked up an astonishing 165,134 miles (or 265,757 km) - that's more than some taxis cover in a year! But here's where it gets controversial: despite the intense mileage, the battery health is an impressive 94.5% of its original capacity.
Mr. Feng, the proud owner of an Aqua Blue SU7 Pro, has been driving an average of 373 miles (600 km) every day since he got his hands on this electric gem. And this is the part most people miss: the regenerative braking system has kept the brake pads in tip-top shape, with no replacements needed!
The Xiaomi SU7's battery, a 94.3 kWh lithium iron phosphate pack from CATL, has proven its mettle. In comparison, Tesla's Model 3 Long Range promises a minimum 70% battery health after 120,000 miles (193,120 km) under warranty.
But the Xiaomi's story doesn't end there. The coolant remains pure, free from any water contamination. The rear-mounted motor, producing a mighty 295 hp (220 kW / 299 PS) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque, has also stood the test of time.
Mr. Feng's choice has paid off big time. Over the past 18 months, his Xiaomi has consumed approximately 47,800 kWh of electricity, which translates to around 506 full charge/discharge cycles for the 94.3 kWh battery. This efficiency has saved him a whopping ¥100,000 ($14,400) in fuel costs compared to a traditional ICE-powered vehicle.
And the journey continues! Mr. Feng plans to keep pushing the boundaries, aiming to reach a staggering 600,000 km (372,823 miles) within the next three years.
The Xiaomi SU7's success story doesn't stop with battery health. It recently made headlines by outselling its rival, the Tesla Model 3, in China. With 258,164 units delivered in 2025, Xiaomi is set to release a refreshed version in April 2026, boasting more advanced ADAS, standard LiDAR, and an extended driving range of up to 560 miles (902 km) in the CLTC cycle.
