However, [Electron Impressions] wanted to take it a step further, aiming for a cylindrical-shaped figure that would truly capture the essence of lightning.
But here's where it gets controversial... they needed to rotate the cylinder to distribute the charge evenly, and that's where things got tricky. The high-energy electron beam, capable of killing in milliseconds, posed a challenge for any electrical components involved in the rotation process.
So, they turned to an old-school solution: a lead-acid battery and a brushed DC motor. It might seem unconventional, but it worked! And get this, even the 3D-printed roller assembly, while not vintage, proved resilient to beta ray exposure. Talk about a durable setup!
